Your gaming chair, like any
other frequently utilized piece of furniture, may soon become a breeding ground for germs and
allergens. Multiple studies have revealed that the typical gaming station harbors 400 times more
bacteria than a toilet seat. The longer stains remain, the more difficult they are to remove. Don't
forget to clean your gaming chair, particularly during the COVID-19 outbreak. But in practice, this
is frequently easier said than done. Based on their materials, here is how to clean the most common
gaming chairs.
Step 1: Check the Material of Your Gaming Chair
Check the chair's material composition before cleaning. Typically, this information can be found on
the chair's label, the manufacturer's instructions, or the product description. The most prevalent
materials are:
◎Leather(PU Leather &PVC Leather)
◎Mesh
◎Fabric
Step 2: Prepare the tools needed for cleaning
It’s time to gather essential cleaning supplies, which may vary depending on the makeup:
◎Cleaning
gloves
◎A bucket of warm water
◎Cleaning duster& brushes & rags of various sizes
◎Cleaning
solvent or agent
◎Alcohol spray
◎A handheld or standard vacuum cleaner
Step 3: Remove Dust and Debris from the Surface
If your chair is made of PU or PVC leather, you may simply clean the surface with a duster or a
microfiber rag. The static characteristics will attach to the dust and effortlessly lift all of the
dirt off the surface.
If you have a chair with mesh or fabric upholstery which collects a lot of
dust and debris easily, you can use a handheld or standard vacuum cleaner to remove dust particles
from the chair’s surface effortlessly. Don’t push too hard. Gently rub over the full surface of the
chair.
Step 4: Deep Clean the Upholstery with Water or Cleaning Solvent
It's time for a deep cleaning after removing the surface dust from the chair. The first thing you
should do is to read the cleaning instructions printed on the chair's tag. It will be labeled as
"S," "W," or "S/W."
"W" signifies that only water should be used to clean the chair. "S"
indicates that a cleaning solvent should be used instead. "S/W" means that water, solvent, or both
can be used. The way you clean a gaming chair with water or solvents depends on the material.
Tips:
◎Use
a soft rag or sponge to rub the leather with cleaning solvent gently. Avoid damaging the chair when
applying the cleaning solvent with care.
◎Fabrics can withstand rigorous cleaning and will look
better after being scrubbed with a brush or cloth.
◎Scraping a mesh gaming chair is not
recommended. Instead, it should be wiped gently until it starts to look cleaner.
Step 5: Wipeout Tough Stains
If some unclean areas remain visible after cleaning with water, you may need to clean them, such as
milk, coffee, juice or any other liquid substance. To avoid damaging the surface of your gaming
chair, you may use rubbing alcohol or other solvent cleaners for even the most stubborn stains.
Choose
a small area at the bottom of the seat to blot with the alcohol cotton ball and allow it to remain
for a few minutes to observe how effective it will be. If the alcohol is harmful to the surface of
your gaming chair, you may choose an alternative method for removing stubborn stains.
If,
however, the area remains undamaged afterward, you may wipe it out with a little bit of alcohol
until tough stains start to fade over time. Remember not to overdo it or pour large amounts of
alcohol directly onto the stain as it will shorten the longevity of the chair.
Step 6: Finish the Rest Accessories
Once all of the stains have been removed, it’s time to continue cleaning the armrests, head pillow, etc without causing any discomfort and maintaining their cleanliness after opening up the structure for maintenance. All you'll need is a cleaning duster or rags, as well as a basin of warm water with mild detergent.
Then you may concentrate on the beneath of your seat where the majority of dirt accumulates. The
frame, shell and casters can be made of stainless steel, metal, plastic and so on. Cleaning
stainless steel is similar to cleaning plastic.
If you want to disinfect them, you may use a
cleaning solvent, which is recommended if you've been sitting there gaming for an extended period of
time without showering.
